Privacy policy
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This page explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, what we do with it and what your rights are. We've tried to keep it plain. If anything isn't clear, just ask.
Who we are
This website is run by Social Media Management Ltd, trading as Elle & Co. Marketing. We're a company registered in England and Wales, company number 14244321. Our registered office is 1 Church Terrace, Yeovil, BA20 1HX.
We're the "controller" of the personal information described here, which means we decide how it's used. For anything to do with your information, email [email protected].
What we collect
We only collect what you give us, plus some basic information about how the site is used:
- When you ask for a free guide (for example the Money Hunt pop-up or the 10 Ways guide): your name and email address.
- When you book a call: your name, email address, phone number, the time you book and anything you tell us in the booking form.
- When you join MIMS: your name, email address, phone number and payment details. Payments are handled by our payment provider, so we never see or store your full card number.
- When you get in touch by email or WhatsApp: your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.
- When you visit the site: if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics tells us things like which pages were visited, roughly where visitors are and what device they used. This doesn't tell us who you are.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) says we need a lawful reason for using your information. Ours are:
- Marketing emails, including the free guides, the follow-up emails that come with them and our newsletter: consent. You can withdraw it at any time (see "Unsubscribing" below).
- Booking and holding calls, and replying to your questions: our legitimate interest in running our business and answering people who contact us, or taking steps you've asked for before entering into a contract with us.
- MIMS membership and any work we do for you: to perform our contract with you, for example taking payment, sending meeting links and keeping you up to date.
- Keeping financial records: to meet our legal obligations, for example to HMRC.
- Website analytics: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for automated decisions that affect you.
The tools we use
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business. They only use your information to provide their service to us:
- Our website and customer management platform, which hosts this site and stores the details from our forms, pop-up, bookings and MIMS sign-ups.
- Email sending, through the same platform, to deliver our emails and tell us whether they arrived.
- Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used (only if you accept analytics cookies).
- Payments: a payment processor handles MIMS payments securely.
- WhatsApp and Zoom, if you message us on WhatsApp or join a MIMS meetup. If you join the MIMS WhatsApp group or Zoom calls, other members will be able to see the name and number or picture you use there.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where that's the case, your information is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK–US Data Bridge or the standard contractual clauses approved for the UK.
How long we keep it
- We keep your details on our mailing list until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep your email address on a "do not email" list, so we don't contact you again by mistake.
- We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we're in touch, and for up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a client or member.
- We keep records of payments and client work for six years, because UK tax law requires it.
When we no longer need your information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To do any of these, email [email protected]. It's free, and we'll reply within one month.
Unsubscribing
Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you won't get any more. You can also just reply to any email, or email [email protected], and we'll take you off the list.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. This site uses:
- Essential cookies, which the site needs to work properly, for example to remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
- Analytics cookies from Google Analytics, which help us see how people use the site. We only use these if you click "Accept all" on the cookie banner.
To change your mind, clear the cookies for this site in your browser settings. The banner will then ask you again on your next visit. Your browser's help pages explain how to do this.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at [email protected] and we'll do our best to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
